Welcome to foodmicrobe.comThe mission of the team is to better understand food borne pathogens and the means of their control. This site covers not only our research papers on detection methods, characterization, and virulence studies, but also links to online resources centred around the books that have been published by the team leader Prof Steve Forsythe. Please take your time to review our publications, and the general areas of work. We undertake research contract, consultancy on food microbiology and related areas. We also run three courses on food microbiology, including implementation of HACCP and 'microbial risk assessment', and a new three-day course on 'microbial bioinformatics'; please contact stephen.forsythe@ntu.ac.uk for details. The Information page has been recently revised after the publication of the 2nd Edition of 'The Microbiology of Safe Food', and includes exercises for microbial bioinformatics. The E. coli O104:H4 outbreak in Germany has been causing considerable concern. Please click here for further information E. coli O104:H4 evolution and revolution.
